PEACE IS OUR CHOICE

Peace Is Our Choice

On January 30, 2005 between 7 and 8:30 PEACE IS OUR CHOICE- an evening of poems, plays, and songs will be presented by TheDrillingCompaNY .
Originally presented on March 2, 2003 in response to the proposd invasion of Iraq
PEACE IS OUR CHOICE returns in response to the continued violence and the “free” elections being held there on this day. It is the beginning of a conversation through written, found and sung word on the nature of peace. We have asked writers to compose new work around the question: What is peace? The evening includes the Dialogue Project, an attempt in the aftermath of the election to initiate a conversation rather than a debate.

PEACE IS OUR CHOICE was a good event . Several gatehred to hear the words of Martin Luther King, Ani De FRanco, the musical creations of Tom Demenkoff, Michael Graetzer, Melody Cooper and Brian Booker and the collaborations of Carol Halstead and Richard Harden speak out in a cry against the perpetuation of American involvement in Iraq on the day of the first "So-Claled " free Iraqi elections. How much bloodshed has been spent to enforce these elections and how much can be said to be worth the price.

When is war our obligation? When is Peace our choice?
